About Sera
I graduated from Kadıköy Anatolian High School. I graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory, pantomime department. I am a third year undergraduate student at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Istanbul State Conservatory, Department of Contemporary Dance. Apart from my school education, I attended the trainings of famous choreographers and dancers in various dance festivals abroad. Apart from being a dance instructor, I produce my own dance works and I performed at festivals such as Mamut Art and Arada Fest. I also perform as a dancer in other choreographers' works. For years, I have been receiving training in various physical disciplines such as tango, modern dance, contemporary dance, yoga, and karate.

In my lessons with children, I shape the lessons with combinations of contemporary dance technique and games that will make children love movement and dance. My main goal in my education with children is to develop their self-confidence and develop their own expressive power, both physically and verbally, apart from their love to move and dance. I care that both children and adults discover their own dance and movement styles, so I do improvisation work outside of contemporary dance technique. I also do stretching and conditioning exercises in my classes. As a necessity of contemporary dance and every dance, I provide anatomical information on how to move without injury, in both theoretical and in dance combinations, and I shape the exercises according to each student's body so that the student is not injured. I am not looking for any physical pre-qualification in my dance lessons. Since I am a conservatory student, I also teach preparatory courses for both undergraduate and part-time contemporary dance departments. I also teach to help the student prepare a specific choreography according to student's wishes. I am also interested in physical theater and since I graduated from the pantomime department, I also work with actors and teach body awareness.

Ben Sera hocanın uzun süreli öğrencilerinden biriyim. Aynı zamanda kendisi çocuk yaştaki kuzenime de uzun süredir ders veriyor. Ve gerçekten kendisi hayatımda karşılaştığım en saygılı, iletişim kurmakta hiç zorlanmayan, öğrencinin ihtiyacını gözetmekte hiç zorluk çekmeyen hocalardan biri. Bunun yanında müzikal yeteneği zaten derslerde kendisini kanıtlayan bir gerçek. İyi ki hocamız olmuşsunuz, iyi ki karşılaşmışız. Kendime güvenmediğim ve yapamadığını düşündüğüm noktada bana moral verdiğiniz için de size çok borçluyum. Herkese tavsiye ediyorum.

Küçük çocuklarla arası çok iyi, yeğenime ders aldırmaya başladık daha önce başka dersler de almıştı ama 7 yaşında ve hemen sıkılıyor devam etmek istemiyordu, şimdi biraz daha hevesli gibi piano öğrenmeye. Sera hocamıza borçluyuz bu hevesi, teşekkürler hocam.
