About Dipo
I am a recent 2026 graduate from Cornell University that majored in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Sustainable Energy Systems. My course work includes: Thermodynamics, Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Computational Optimization, Reactor Design, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Food Chemistry, and so on. I also know how to code in Python so if you want to learn that, I can teach. For high school, I graduated with the class of 2022 at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD as a part of the Science and Tech program. In high school, I found a passion for tutoring and helping my peers when they were struggling. I was often the kid everyone came to when they needed homework answers, and I used those skills when tutoring. In college, I did not tutor very much, but I was a great leader in the extracurriculars I decided to join. I joined the Taekwondo team at Cornell and, after 2 years on the team, became a practice leader and used the same skills I developed when tutoring to build effective practice plans for my team. I had to teach people strategies, concepts, and techniques in order to prepare them for our seasonal competitions, just like preparing a student to take a test. If need be, I can also teach Taekwondo, but as a student athlete your academics should take first priority. In my senior year of high school, while I was doing a lot of my tutoring, I was also the captain of Dem Raider Boyz Step Squad, a role which required me to choreograph dances and routines, teach them to my team, and then get the routine/dance to a stage-ready level to perform in front of audiences. I also used the same tutoring skills I had to effectively do the tasks required of me in this role. I have been teaching all throughout my academic career and I'm sure I can help with whatever you're struggling with!

A lesson with me would be structured to help any student practice and retain the skills they need to succeed in whatever they are struggling with. I would start by asking what the student generally struggles with, just to get an idea of what the student's perspective is, then we would dive into some practice problems. I would have them attempt the first 1-2 on their own, just to see their approach, then I would assist them with the next couple practice problems, helping them through any reasoning errors that I see. Then I would have them complete a couple more practice problems on their own so they can practice the new concepts and approaches they learned. If they still are struggling, then I would aid with more practice problems and repeat the cycle until some improvement shows. From being a taekwondo practice leader and a dance coach in college, and from tutoring in high school, I've seen this style of teaching work extremely well for students across many ages, but it works especially well on middle-high school students.
