About Orion
I have been teaching lessons as a tutor for over 3 years now, starting out with only younger middle school students usually covering broader subjects. However in the last 2 years I have taught high school and middle school students regularly, ranging from broad historical timelines for middle schoolers to very specific events or history classes for high schoolers. I am passionate about history and often find myself reading or watching videos about it in my free time. However I do not enjoy history that is simply lecturing and want to make sure every lesson has lots of student engagement otherwise the student may feel overwhelmed and pressured to learn without any real connection to the material.

A typical first lesson would begin by evaluating where a student is at with whichever level history class they are in, and then trying to determine what the most important aspects of the class should be tackled first. Then as classes progress the subject matter will broaden until most to everything is manageable for the student. The most important part of how I structure my lessons is making sure the student is engaged and wants to learn. If a student doesn't want to learn no matter how good a tutor you are you can't make them learn more unless you are able to make learning something they want. Usually this involves constant engagement and not just reading from a textbook and asking questions to make sure the student is following. The lessons are for students from grade 6 all the way up to 12th.
