About Marlene
Twenty two years of experience performing, teaching and facilitating music education programs for children, teenagers and adults; developing and implementing new workshops and activities to nourish and encourage the creative talents of the student body ensuring a quality experience during the learning process.
I also have experience working with students with special needs such as: Cerebral Palsy, Aspergers, Autism and deaf.
Subjects: Solfège (Solmization), Music Theory, violin, piano, group or individual,Choral Conductor Diploma,Wide understanding of diverse genres of music: Jazz, Folk, Contemporary, Classical, Mexican and Latin-American folk music. Literature, Theatre, dance and corporal expression workshops.

My teaching method is very holistic. I work with my students to develop five core elements in learning : Auditory memory, Visual memory, Kinesthetic intelligence, Musical intelligence, and integration of all of these to improve playing.
My main goal is to help students reach their full creative potential, while learning to play in a relaxed manner, connected with their musicality.
Creativity is a main aspect of my lessons. Weather we are working on playing violin, technique, learning solfege, theory, composition or ear training, we will make sure creativity is always part of the lesson. This can also help with stage fright, and creative blockage. I want my students to enjoy their learning process as much as possible, while advancing as much as they can.
