About Jarrett
I am an experienced Piano tutor with 10 years of teaching and professional music experience. I teach piano to school and college students and focus on creating a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment where students can thrive.
Over the 10 years, I have reached meaningful milestones, including helping students move from beginner level to confident performers. Watching students perform with joy and skill has been one of the most rewarding parts of my teaching journey.
My lessons emphasise correct hand position, finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, music reading, and musical expression. I also include music theory in a simple and accessible way to enhance understanding and independence.
I believe piano learning nurtures creativity, discipline, focus, and emotional growth. Music gives students a safe and enjoyable way to express themselves while building confidence and resilience.
My teaching style is patient, flexible, and student-centred. I adapt lessons to each learner’s pace and style while guiding them towards their personal goals and making learning enjoyable.

I follow a student-centred, adaptive, and creatively-driven approach to teaching piano, combining technical precision, musical understanding, and expressive performance. I prioritise communication, ensuring that students fully grasp techniques, music theory, rhythm, and expressive interpretation. Lessons are designed to match each student’s preferred learning style—visual, auditory, or kinaesthetic—making learning interactive, engaging, and effective.
I use real-life examples and case studies to make lessons practical and relatable, such as analysing favourite songs, exploring classical compositions, and demonstrating music’s use in films, performances, and everyday life. In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, ear training, improvisation, composition, and performance skills, providing students with a complete and well-rounded musical education. My methodology encourages creativity, technical mastery, performance confidence, and a lifelong love for music, enabling students to express themselves fully and enjoy every stage of their piano learning journey.
