About Craig

Hi, I’m a creative tutor with a Masters in Fine Art (Photography and Moving Image) and a First Class Honours in Photography. I work with students in the creative industries, tutoring photography, creative practice, editing, portfolio preparation, study skills and writing for creative practice. As someone with ADHD, I understand how challenging studying can sometimes feel, especially when balancing creative projects with academic demands. I know that creative courses often involve much more writing than students first expect, and that writing for creative practice is a skill in its own right. I can help you develop strategies to approach reflective journals, artist statements and essays with clarity and confidence, while still supporting your creative voice. My lessons are friendly, structured and flexible. I adapt sessions to your individual goals and needs, breaking tasks into manageable steps, keeping activities engaging, and building your confidence as you grow your skills. Whether you’re preparing a portfolio, developing your photography practice, or strengthening your study skills, I’ll help you feel more organised, focused and assured in your learning. Above all, I aim to create an encouraging space where you feel supported and motivated to reach your potential. With my academic background and experience tutoring students with additional support needs, you’ll have the guidance and reassurance you need to succeed.

I hold a Masters in Fine Art (Photography and Moving Image) and a First Class Honours degree in Photography, combining academic expertise with practical creative experience. I tutor students in the creative industries across a wide range of areas, including photography, creative practice, editing, portfolio preparation, writing for creative practice and developing effective study skills. I specialise in tutoring learners with disabilities and additional support needs, including dyslexia, ADHD and autism. My approach is inclusive, structured and flexible, designed to help students overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their goals. Lessons are tailored to the individual, with clear frameworks, step-by-step guidance and practical strategies to support both creative and academic development. I adapt lessons to suit each learner by breaking tasks into manageable steps, using accessible resources, and providing clear explanations supported by visual examples. Sessions are structured and predictable, with focused activities and clear objectives to maintain engagement. I place emphasis on scaffolding and gradual progression, ensuring learners can build confidence as they develop new skills. Where needed, I adjust the pace, revisit key concepts, and provide alternative approaches so lessons remain flexible, inclusive and responsive to individual needs. My tutoring is suitable for school and college students preparing portfolios, university students developing their creative or written work, and adult learners seeking to expand their skills. Every session is designed to support technical growth, creative expression and academic success, ensuring students feel empowered to reach their potential in the creative industries.
