An experienced crypto tutor like me is extremely hard to find. In addition, I take on a lot of responsibility when I help you with your crypto one on one. Crypto is no joke and a single mistake could lose all your money. I take this very seriously and treat your money as if it was mine. You are in safe hands with me. I have had plenty of people come to me that have lost anywhere from $20,000 to $250,000 to crypto scams. Had they gotten with me sooner they could have saved themselves a lot of money. This is the reasoning for my high rates.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I really developed an interest in cryptocurrency in July 2020. I had set up a Roth IRA and had some money in the stock market, I can't remember how or why, but I stumbled across this coin called XRP and put $200 into it. For a few weeks it didn't really do anything, then one day in the span of a few hours it went up 50% and I made $100. Well naturally my brain was like "Wow! 50% in a day, just like that! Imagine if I invested more!"

So this is kind of what set me off on this path of watching a ton of YouTube documentaries about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and just putting all my time into learning as much as I could. As I learned more, I invested more capital into crypto and did pretty well. When the market crashed in May of 2021, things were pretty boring in the crypto space. So I took that as an opportunity to take some classes at the Moralis Academy to really learn the "nitty gritty" technical details of bitcoin and blockchain and how everything works from the ground up.

If you read my "about me" section you can see I have a background of tutoring/teaching and helping people. I have done well in crypto, but money is not everything to me. It brings me joy and fulfillment to be able to help other people, and if I can make some extra money on the side, while helping people, that is even better. So that's pretty much how I found Super Professor. I started out at $10 an hour, the cheapest tutor on the website at the time. However, as I got some reviews and my demand picked up, I've raised my rate to a level that allows me to have my own free time to continue managing my own assets while also enjoying my free time.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

My lessons are catered to the individual student. I have helped people do things as simple as buying their first crypto on a centralized exchange, and helped people do more complex things like setting up a wallet and purchasing a coin on a decentralized exchange. The most important thing about cryptocurrency, especially once you send your coins off of a centralized exchange, is security.

I like to make sure my students take security as serious as possible. So I do teach a lot about proper security measures, such as the best methods of securing your crypto safely and avoiding common scams in the De-Fi space.

Honestly, I enjoy talking and teaching all about blockchain and crypto. I will go on long rambles about all types of crypto topics because I am just so passionate about it all. The thing I like the least about teaching is the tedious things. For example, if a student shares their screen and needs help navigating a website, sometimes it's hard to help people click the right things, or navigate a complex interface, just by giving them vocal instruction.

I don't enjoy giving people investment advice. Some people straight up want me to tell them what to put their money into. That isn't something I like to do. Blockchain and crypto is all a giant experiment, no one has a crystal ball to know what will go up or down. My goal is to give you the tools to be able to make your own informed decisions. What is a "good investment" today could be a "bad investment" tomorrow as the space is constantly changing at a rapid pace.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

There are a lot of people who have inspired me in my life. I have a big cousin who was always doing cool stuff. He worked for a few years as a counselor with drug addicted teens. The organization he worked for would take these teens on camping trips and give them exercises and training to help them get over their addiction issues. I always thought that was super cool, to be able to help people for a living, and I admired him for it. I believe he is a big reason why I decided to start doing volunteer work and eventually work in different jobs helping people.

Naval Ravikant is another big influence on my life. He is an entrepreneur with a four hour podcast episode titled "How to Get Rich". The title is misleading as the podcast episode is really about how to achieve wealth in all aspects of life and gives advice to those seeking financial independence. I used to listen to this podcast episode constantly, soaking in all the info and embodying it. I recommend that podcast episode to many people as it has truly changed my life.

Lastly, Richard Heart has taught and inspired me a lot. In my opinion he is one of the smartest people in the crypto space. He was an early bitcoin miner and has been an influential voice in the space for many years. He teaches a lot about the dangers of trading and how holding and delaying gratification is the key to winning when it comes to investing in cryptocurrency. He also has self help videos that have really influenced and helped me in life.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I think patience and the ability to adapt to a students needs are important. Every student is different and may require different methods of learning. I also think a good tutor knows the subject they are teaching well enough to explain complex subjects in a simple way that is easy to understand.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One of the coins I did really well on when I first entered the crypto space was $MATIC (Polygon), it was sitting around 3 cents and was supposed to be an answer to Ethereum's high gas fees. At the time I invested in $MATIC (Polygon) the gas fees on Ethereum were actually not that bad. On a really bad day you would pay $5 for a transaction and on a normal day it would be $1-$2.

But there were forward thinking people in the space who were pointing out the fact that the more people who started using Ethereum the worse the fees were going to get. So I listened to these people, and bought this $MATIC coin despite no big influencers or crypto news sites mentioning anything about it. Fast forward a few months and Ethereum fees are $30 or more and the whole time $MATIC had been moving from 1-5 cents for months, not really doing anything.

Then $MATIC took off and by the time it was at 30 cents, all the big influencers and crypto websites were talking about $MATIC, it was really blowing up. $MATIC ended up going to $2.92 and now sits at around $1.43 as of 4/20/2022.

The point of telling you this story is that the best opportunities in crypto are the ones that haven't happened yet. Search for the thing that hasn't become popular yet, the thing that has big potential but hasn't yet seen the mainstream. There are tons of snakeoil salesmen out there trying to peddle you get rich quick schemes.

Keep in mind that I help $MATIC for 3 or 4 months and the price did absolutely nothing, there were some people who held $MATIC for TWO YEARS before it made it's incredible run. Patience, long term thinking, and delayed gratification are what win in this space!
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

One of the biggest challenges I faced when starting out in the crypto space was finding the information I needed to know. Crypto is so new there isn't really a single place you can go to find all the answers, I spent a lot of time just searching for the right information.

A challenge I still have to this day is keeping my emotions in check. Crypto is extremely volatile and emotions can run high and cause you to make bad decisions. You can become really passionate about the vision of a coin or project you're invested in and get emotionally attached. This has definitely happened to me and caused me to not take as much profit as I should of when the coin inevitably has a run up. Emotions can also cause people to sell a good coin too early. "Volatility is the price you pay for mad gains in cryptocurrency" - Richard Heart. Many times a coin will dip 50%-80% then run up to do a 10x or 100x, the emotional investor who sold on the dip will likely buy back in when the coin inevitably hits the top of it's run up.

This is why holding long term is how you win in crypto, the short term volatility is irrelevant and emotions are less of a factor.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Cryptocurrency is my passion. I think it has the ability to change the world forever. It provides individuals the power to transact without the need for a third party like banks. Anyone with an internet connection can now enter the world of investing and have the opportunity to create and preserve wealth.

I am also passionate about helping people. So for me, helping people get involved in what I believe is world changing technology, is a win win!
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

I'm a Super Professor because I actually care about helping people get involved in crypto and am extremely knowledgeable about the subject! I can explain complex subjects in a way that is easy to understand and have the patience to help even the newest people in the crypto space do the things they want to do.
