About Tyrell

Hello there, I'm Ty and if you're serious about learning programming, then you've come to the right place. I am a highly skilled and passionate programmer, and coding is not only a skill for me but a central part of who I am. Despite having a packed life as a full-time student, a dedicated father, a loving husband, and an undergraduate researcher, I always prioritize programming and strive for excellence in my work.

But what truly sets me apart is my enthusiasm for teaching. Guiding someone through the intricacies of coding and helping them grasp complex concepts is extremely rewarding for me. I have extensive experience in tutoring and have been able to successfully impart my knowledge to countless students, with over 170 hours of dedicated teaching and 28 group courses under my belt.

My credentials speak for themselves. As the Head TA at Stanford's Code In Place, I taught my own section and led and trained 55 section leaders. I have also gained valuable real-world insights from my internships at the Carnegie Institution for Science at Stanford and the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, which I bring into my lessons.

So whether you're looking for a top-notch tutor for your child or considering a mid-career pivot into the tech world, rest assured that I can provide the guidance and support to help you achieve your coding goals. Let's work together to make your aspirations a reality!

About My Lessons:

Drawing from a rich educational background at CSU Monterey Bay, where I mastered subjects ranging from Python and Java to Advanced Machine Learning and Enterprise Software Development, I offer specialized lessons tailored to different age groups.

For younger learners (ages 8-17), my experience as a tutor at IDTech Camps comes to the forefront. I've honed my approach to make complex topics accessible and engaging, capitalizing on my 170 hours of teaching both individual and group sessions.

Whether laying the groundwork for coding principles or diving deep into advanced topics, I employ techniques that resonate with younger minds, ensuring they're not just learning but genuinely enjoying the process.

For adult learners, my time as the Head TA at Stanford University's Code In Place is invaluable. Over six months, I collaborated with, taught, and managed adult learners and professionals.

These lessons are designed to be in-depth, challenging, and immensely rewarding, grounded in theoretical knowledge and practical insights from my internships at prestigious institutions like the Carnegie Institution for Science and the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Regardless of age or expertise level, my commitment is consistent: A transformative learning experience anchored in proven expertise from some of the foremost institutions in the world. Join me, and let's embark on a journey towards academic and professional excellence.
