About Megan
I did not always get along with maths, but all it took was one “eureka” moment for things to click. From then on, I began to really enjoy the subject. I was lucky to have great teachers who helped me build confidence in maths and physics, and that confidence eventually led me to pursue a degree in applied mathematics.
Because of that experience, I understand how challenging maths can sometimes feel, and how rewarding it is when things start to make sense. As a tutor, I want to help students reach that point of understanding and build a positive, confident relationship with maths.

My teaching techniques involve a walk-through of a concept followed by one or two guided practice problems, and then the student attempts a question individually. In case an explanation does not work the first time, I prepare one or two alternate explanations ahead of time to make things clearer.
Lessons are typically 1-1.5 hours long, but can absolutely be flexible and catered to the student's preference.
I have experience tutoring peers throughout school and university, and more formally, I was a maths teaching intern at a secondary school and sixth form college, where I gained further experience with planning and delivering targeted lessons.
