About Matthew
I'm currently studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Sydney, and I still remember exactly what it felt like sitting the HSC not long ago, so I know firsthand what actually helps versus what just sounds good in theory. I got into tutoring because I enjoy the moment a concept finally clicks for someone, and I like the process of breaking down tricky problems into steps that make sense. I'm patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in each student's progress rather than just getting through the syllabus. Having gone through the HSC recently myself, I understand the pressure students are under and try to make lessons feel supportive rather than stressful.

I'm a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Sydney, having achieved Band 6 results in both HSC Mathematics and Biology myself. I know exactly what it takes to master these subjects at the HSC level, and I tailor every lesson to how each student learns best. My approach focuses on building strong fundamentals first, then applying them to exam-style questions so concepts actually stick under pressure. Lessons typically run 60-90 minutes and combine explanation, worked examples, and practice questions targeted at your specific weak points. I work with students across all HSC math and biology courses, from those needing a confidence boost to those chasing a Band 6 of their own, as well as younger students in high school.
