About Amel
Hi! My name is Amel and I am a first year student at Cambridge. I love literature and when I am not working on my degree, I am constantly reading fiction. I am currently reading 'Three Daughters of Eve' by Elif Shafak.
I am passionate about sharing knowledge and have always dedicated time to helping and teaching others. I thrive off other people's successes; I love seeing the process in which it becomes obvious that the work has paid off, and the relief and euphoria that follows. Having such a long summer ahead is the perfect opportunity to get back into teaching, to give back whilst also strengthening my CV before my next term starts.

The texts I am confident to teach are Othello, The Great Gatsby, Pre-1900 Love Through the Ages poetry (AQA), The Color Purple and A Streetcar Named Desire at A-level and Macbeth and An Inspector Calls at GCSE.
I achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-level. I have had plenty of experience teaching; I volunteered for over a year at a local Arabic school, have worked as a Maths tutor and regularly mentor other applicants applying to Cambridge and other top universities.
I will tailor my teaching based on what best suits you but I will strictly follow the marking scheme and spend significant time on each of the AOs e.g. structural techniques, learning the textual and societal contexts and evaluating interpretations. I am open to any requests and areas you want to focus on.
Each lesson will be an hour long but I am willing to offer longer sessions if necessary. The maximum I am willing to offer in a week is 3.
