About Una
As a current biology undergraduate with a strong foundation in the subject, I bring both knowledge and experience to my role as a tutor. I have prior experience tutoring students and currently serve as a Learning Assistant for the introductory biology courses at my university. In this role, I help explain complex biological concepts to students on a weekly basis, giving me a deep understanding of how to convey material in a clear and accessible way. As a biology undergraduate with hands-on research and academic experience, I take a personalized and interactive approach to tutoring. My teaching method focuses on breaking down complex biological concepts into simple, relatable components through diagrams, mnemonics, and easy to understand explanations I emphasize active learning, encouraging students to ask questions, solve problems, and explain concepts in their own words to reinforce understanding. I then dive into the core content with engaging explanations and interactive discussions, ensuring students can apply their knowledge through practice problems and allowing them to ask any question they would like. What sets me apart is my relatability as a current biology undergraduate, my ability to connect what the student is learning as I have recently taken the classes myself and my adaptable teaching style tailored to individual learning preferences. My lessons are designed for high school students preparing for exams like General and AP Biology exams, as well as undergraduate students tackling courses such as General Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or Molecular Biology.
