I teach to so that the student can fully understand the topic. My approach is to get the student to see the large picture of how all concepts interconnect while teaching the fine details of each concept. Students retain knowledge when they can make concepts logical and completely understand them as opposed to memorization. The first day of class should connect to the last day of class and everyday in between.
