About Lily
I am a first-year University of York student studying English, and my passion for this subject has led me to want to share my knowledge with students hoping to improve their analysis and essay writing skills, as well as explore their own passion for English. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have 2 years of experience guiding KS3 students in literacy and reading skills, and I am eager to work with other students seeking some extra tuition in English. I am flexible and can help with specific needs or general skills. My style would entail supported engagement with the texts, whilst also promoting independence, to prepare the student for exams. Written work would include both guided and independent essay writing, with feedback always given. I can tailor my lessons around specific exam boards, and feedback given from classroom teachers. I have experience with KS3 literacy and reading and achieved top exam results in my own examinations. I am a current English student at University of York, so have plenty of knowledge of high-level literary analysis and essay writing skills. Typical lessons would be an hour (however, I am flexible on this) and would be online.
