About Genevieve
As a high school mathematics teacher, I have plenty of experience working with students of all kinds. While some of my students are still building up basic math skills, others are practicing algebra, geometry, and trigonometry at an advanced and fast-paced level.
Since the abilities of my students vary across all of my classes, I take time to tailor individual lessons and assignments to fit the needs of the group. I can do the same during a tutoring session to ensure that new concepts and skills are easy to understand, no matter what your current math skill level may be!
I specialize in teaching high school level algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, but also have experience tutoring college calculus.

I believe that it is impossible for students to grow and thrive unless they are provided with a learning environment in which they feel comfortable, confident, and supported.
In my experience as a teacher, I have seen the most success when I build strong positive connections with my students. I strive to use positive reinforcement every day, which encourages students to try new things and face challenging problems without fear of any consequences for being wrong. Mistakes are how we learn!
A typical lesson starts with a formal introduction of our topic of focus, with time for discussion and questions along the way. We will walk through problems together to investigate how each skill will apply to different types of problems, and to real-world scenarios!
