About Haniya
Hello! My name is Haniya, and I'm a passionate and high-achieving student tutor, currently in Year 11 and predicted top grades (Grade 9/A*) in Maths. I specialise in teaching GCSE and iGCSE Maths to students aged 11–16, and I focus on building confidence, improving exam technique, and making Maths feel less overwhelming. Though I’m a student myself, this gives me a unique advantage, as I understand the current curriculum inside-out, and I know exactly what students struggle with because I’ve been through it myself. I’ve successfully helped other students raise their grades through patient, clear, and personalised teaching. Every lesson is tailored to your needs, and I aim to make even the most complex topics easy to understand. As a tutor, I primarily focus on building real understanding, not just memorisation. I make sure my students are comfortable with me, so they can easily express their thoughts and concepts which are unclear to them, so that I can aid them with whatever they are struggling with. I like to teach my Maths students through presenting short and simple PowerPoints to introduce them to a concept, and once their base in that concept is strong, I like to share worksheets from Corbettmaths and Maths Genie, as well as active recall questions, to help them apply what they understood. To further excel on that concept, I challenge them with past paper questions to get them used to the structure of the questions they will face in the actual GCSE exams. The typical length of my lessons is one hour, which gives time for explanations, practice and solving questions. I’m a current Year 11 student predicted Grade 9 in Maths, with high performance across all core subjects. I’ve also tutored younger students in school and helped friends boost their confidence in class. I use the exact curriculum and exam formats for GCSE & iGCSE (Edexcel). My lessons are for students aged 11–16 studying for GCSE or iGCSE Maths (Foundation or Higher Tier).
