About Rebecca
Hello! I’m Rebecca!
I’m so excited to have the opportunity to support you on your learning journey! I recently graduated from York University’s Teacher Education program and am currently working as an Occasional Teacher with the Peel District School Board. With a background in Psychology and experience working with children and youth, I’m passionate about creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and confident.
As your tutor, I’m committed to meeting you where you’re at and working at a pace that feels comfortable and achievable. I believe that learning is never one-size-fits-all. Every student has their own strengths, interests, and learning style, and my goal is to build on those strengths while helping you develop new skills.
Together, we can work on building confidence and strengthening skills in reading, writing, and language, all while making learning feel positive and manageable. Whether you need a little extra support, want to build your confidence, or are looking to challenge yourself, I’m here to help!

Every student is different, with their own needs, strengths, interests, and areas for growth. As a tutor, I want to take the time to get to know your child as a lifelong learner and understand the different ways I can best support them.
While every lesson will be personalized to the student, a typical session will include a reading component, followed by time to reflect on and break down their understanding of the text. We will then work on a writing component, with activities and instruction tailored to the areas where your child would benefit most from additional practice and support.
I have a strong passion for education and helping students grow in both their skills and confidence. I am especially passionate about literacy and believe that developing strong reading and writing skills can have a lasting impact on a student’s success across all areas of learning.
I have always had a love for reading, and one of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students discover that reading and writing can be enjoyable, meaningful, and something they can feel confident doing. My goal is not only to help students improve their skills, but to help them see themselves as capable and lifelong learners.
