About Collin
I was not always a great student or writer, but after several years of arduous effort, work, and failure, I have become an A+ student, as well as a good writer. I understand the frustrating complexities of school work and writing, so I am equipped to help students understand whatever material they are learning, as well as making the material simpler and easier to follow along. I believe everyone can be academically successful, but too often, students are discouraged by bad instructors who write off students far too easily. I ensure my students I have a lot of patience and understanding, and will work hard to make sure they see whatever grade they are wanting on their next paper.

My methods for tutoring include mini exercises that allow for practice in whatever concept we are going over, using the Socratic method to allow students to develop their critical thinking skills and fully engage with the material, and to praise things that they do well to instill a sense of confidence. My use of the Socratic method is what distinguishes me from other tutors. These lessons are geared for undergraduate/high school students who are attempting to enhance their writing, although I do welcome non students as well.
