About Venus
My name is Venus Zheng, and I am an experienced tutor specializing in mathematics, SAT/ACT preparation, and college preparatory guidance. I have over four years of tutoring experience, beginning in high school and continuing through my time at Cornell University, where I currently serve in three teaching assistant roles. I bring a structured, professional, and student-centered approach to every session, focusing on clarity, accountability, and measurable progress. My goal is to help students build strong academic foundations, confidence in their abilities, and effective learning strategies that extend beyond individual exams.

As a tutor, I focus on clarity, confidence, and strategy. I break down complex math concepts into intuitive steps, teach students how to think through problems, and emphasize pattern recognition for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. My lessons combine concept review, guided practice, and timed problem-solving to build both accuracy and speed.
A typical session starts with diagnosing weak areas, followed by targeted instruction and practice, and ends with actionable takeaways. What sets me apart is my holistic approach: I integrate test strategy, academic planning, and college preparatory advice. My lessons are designed for middle school through high school students, specifically aimed for students preparing for standardized exams and college readiness.
