About Piya
I am 18 years old, from Tanzania, currently pursuing a BsC in Politics and International Relations at University College London (UCL). I received 38 points in my IB (Class of 2023), and a high 7 in Global Politics at the higher level. I have grown to have an unimaginable passion for Politics today but this was first cultivated during IB. Therefore, I know first-hand how hard the IB can be and its feels even harder when you feel like you've been left in the deep end. I am here to help you get to where you want to be in the subject - so not only will you feel supported - but you will genuinely you feel like you understand the subject and what it asks from you. I am particularly happy to provide feedback on any written work and further help clarify any topics you may be struggling with. I aim to make the sessions a comfortable place for you to ask questions, and more importantly, the place where you worked hard to get a 7 too!

I first and foremost focus on the areas the student is struggling with. We investigate parts of the subject that are not clear, misinterpreted or that simply need extra guidance. From here, I am able to help students by providing meaningful feedback on their work (an open discussion) where we collaboratively target what needs to changed, improved and what they are doing well. IB Global Politics can be challenging but I have found a passion in the subject and I hope to help others do the same. I have had experience with teaching as a volunteer at local schools in Tanzania but I am now keen to teach the following ages levels:
- Year 12 and 13 (Grade 11 and 12)
- Students of Global Politics IB curriculum
I am happy to have 30-minute to 1 hour sessions depending on what the student needs. It can be anything as small as proof-reading an IA to working through a more challenging topic.
