About Yashdeep
I attended White Oaks Secondary School (maintained ~95% average) and currently attend the computer science program at the University of Waterloo (I am entering third year in January 2027; I've maintained a ~92% overall average). I understand the kind of critical thinking skills required in high school and early university math and computer science courses in order to become a capable thinker, proof-writer, and general creative mind. I also have prior tutoring/teaching experience for math and computer science clubs and volunteer positions that involved teaching other students. Students in the past have benefited from the way I can break down complicated concepts through example and relation to past material.

About the lesson

A typical lesson follows the basic structure of: diagnosing where the student is currently at in their learning, getting them to explain where they are having difficulty, and then following a first-principles approach ("from the ground up") to give them context for and anchor their new learning in prior knowledge. We would work through concrete examples - possibly from their class - after understanding the basic theory and background knowledge.
These lessons are intended for Grade 11/12 and early university students so they can develop a first-principles approach to thinking so that they are not only able to solve their immediate problems when being tutored, but also carry on their thinking skills to future courses and jobs.
