About Marnie
Since starting my A-level journey, I have discovered my passion for Law specifically as it provides us with assistance in explaining how society works, and how influential case law and legislation is in influencing how we act. I chose to tutor this as I know they can feel very overwhelming and complex at A-level, specifically when students are trying to balance learning theories, statute law, and case law on top of how to apply and evaluate this in exams. I enjoy assisting students to break down complex concepts into manageable and clear ideas, as this will enable them to build their confidence when analysing questions and putting forward strong arguments in response to the exam question. What motivates me as a tutor is seeing students who once previously struggled excel, as they are now confident in their abilities and skill set.

My lessons are aimed towards current A-level students who are aiming to boost both their confidence and academic ability to achieve top grades and marks. My lessons will focus on breaking down complex ideas and theories, case studies, and key concepts into manageable and simple explanations, tailoring this to each student's existing knowledge and abilities over a span of one and a half hours. I provide structured support for those struggling with exams through assistance with essay writing, exam techniques, and analytic skills. During lessons, we will work through knowledge of the topic before moving on to practise questions and model answers in order to strengthen knowledge and prepare for exams. Getting through two rounds of Oxford interviews and achieving a score of 26 on the LNAT (5 marks above the average of 21) has equipped me with the skills to help both students wanting to study law and other subjects prepare and practise for entrance exams, and intensive and insightful interview preparation.
