About Sofia
Hi! My name is Sofia. I’m currently studying English Literature at Royal Holloway University and am incredibly passionate about writing and reading. My goal is to boost your confidence in English, to write creatively, and to structure essays exam style. I’m also very passionate about poetry, as I feel it is an excellent way to express yourself. When I was nine, I read the entire Harry Potter book series, and found myself obsessed with the creativity of the books, and the way it transported me to another world. This is what I’d like to do in my future, I’d love to write to evoke feeling and emotion as I think that’s what makes a book so enjoyable. As your tutor, I promise to support you in a judgement-free zone; to allow you to express creatively within your writing, and to make sure English becomes an enjoyable subject for you by adding in creative activities to our sessions to really allow you to express yourself. For me, English has a wide range of topics to cover, particularly to ace exams, but I want to help you break that down and learn in a positive, stress-free environment!

To ensure you get the most out of our sessions, we will initially establish areas that need improvement. From this, lessons will be based on improvement and development in learning. I’m very much aware of the amount of revision you will be completing within school, so I’ll be setting reasonable, enjoyable and relaxing homework pieces that allow you to excel in confidence! I’m always open to feedback and advice so if something isn’t working for you, I’m more than happy to adapt to your needs. I hope to see you ace all your exams!
