I believe in an equitable education. This means I will make sure the lessons fit the students and their needs through differentiation of the lessons. I also believe in eliciting a deeper understanding of the material, especially when it comes to math. This can be done through bringing in a social aspect to math as well as allowing my students to find an answer with their own strategy. When students explain how they got an answer they start to grasp more concrete concepts around mathematics instead of just being given an equation and filling it in.
