About Alex
I am a 29 year old guitarist that gigs frequently while also studying music. I am currently playing in an indie/grunge rock band, a funk jam band and a folk ensemble but have also played in jazz bands/duos and a Brazillian ensemble recently.
I have a professional attitude towards music, but still find every day joyous when I'm able to jam or perform! I also have experience in booking and organising shows, running social media accounts.
Basically I'm here to help you either pick up the instrument, get into a university course, or take the music from your bedroom onto the stage!

I have been learning all sorts of instruments from the age of 7 and I can without a doubt say that the best teachers inspire a love in music. Technical exercises and learning scales are essential tools, but without the desire to pick up the instrument everyday, it's meaningless.
I am now studying music because of the joy it brings me and audiences when I play for them, and that is what I want to help nurture in beginners. If you already have the drive, I can help elevate your musical theory knowledge, your songwriting ability and even your agency and efficacy in the studio.
Based in Gordon Park, I can offer lessons at my own home, at the conservatorium in South Bank, a location convenient to you or online! I will be offering lessons of 30 minutes and an hour, for beginners and intermediate players. I can also do group sessions and even work with bands.
