About Maria
I started belly dancing in 2007, still in high school, got really fond of what was called then tribal fusion and eventually started teaching myself. In 2018-2020 I got the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for getting a degree in Dance Anthropology and that took me to a completely new level of teaching and understanding my dance style. Now I'm not only a dance practitioner, but also a dance researcher promoting a decolonised and demythologised approach to belly dance.
For belly dance nerds, here is more info :) Among my teachers are: Tash Twisted, Maria Fomina, Manca Pavli, Violet Scrap, Melli Sarina, Michelle Sorensen, Nagasita. I also was among Datura Scholarship holders (one of the leading belly dance studios worldwide).

My fusion technique is greatly inspired by hip-hop and waving: I adore fluid, almost liquid movement, so expect a lot of 'floating' in the music :)
My classes last from 60 to 90 min (depends on your needs and goals) and include 3 main parts:
1) warm-up and conditioning
2) the dance technique block
3) short cool down
I'm also very enthusiastic about the history of the style and will probably tell you stories about how belly dance got surrounded by popular myths and took its current form.
