Daryl has aided me in comprehending accounting topics I found difficult with ease. He is an all-round fantastic teacher.

Really good teacher, he taught me for over 2 years including IGCSE maths and AS Edexcel Maths. I started my Upper Sixth year and immediately found topics in economics difficult to comprehend. For the first three months I sought extra help from my teachers as well as exploring online help to clarify things, but I was still struggling. A family friend had recommended Daryl, as she too struggled with economics but said he was hugely helpful as she secured an A in the subject. Lessons are two hours minimum which I found really useful because it gives you lots of time to work through challenging topics and there is no rush, as with the common one-hour tutoring slots. From the offset I immediately began to better understand the complex topics, and having sat a topic-test the day after my first tutoring session I scored rather highly, much to my teacher's surprise. This is a testament to Daryl and after the first session I knew I had made the right decision appointing him. All lessons were throroughly helpful, with my knowledge and understanding increasing exponentionally. Each session Daryl would have my exam-board specification up on-screen and we would work through each specific topic, meeting the exact demands of the specification. This was fantastic as I knew for sure that everything I was being taught was relevant and necessary, and I was learning/revising exactly what the exam-board wanted me to. Daryl and I had a great relationship and I never felt worried or embarrassed to ask questions if I didn't understand certain things. Daryl was always happy to re-explain something in a different way to ensure my understanding and I never felt under pressure or nervous. The tasks set for 'homework' each session were really useful in bolstering my understanding and making sure I didn't just switch off and forget after each session. From the get-go much of these homework tasks were focused around essay planning and writing, which is especially vital for economics because the style in which you write essays is largely determinant on how you score. It's Knowledge, Application, Analysis, and Evaluation. This practice helped me no-end and I improved hugely as regards essay writing. Overall I was thoroughly pleased with the decision to appoint Daryl as my economics tutor. He was highly intelligent and knowledgable in the subject, as well as being friendly and making me feel comfortable with the subject. I would most definitely recommend Daryl to anyone who struggled as I did, and I have already done so!

Following a U in my A2 Economics mock I decided to take lessons with Daryl. The lessons helped me to make leaps and bounds forward in both my knowledge of the content and my essay writing skills. They were both engaging and tailored to suit me personally along with suitable suggestions for how I should continue to progress outside of the designated hours.

I had fortnightly lessons with Daryl in which I was very comfortable with his teaching structure and approach to different economic concepts. For each lesson new sheets were printed out which we would then fill in as went on, the sheets were exactly the course content and were simple which helped my understanding. My real world economic knowledge improved significantly which is important to gain a high mark in essays, furthermore my essays improved due to Daryl as he taught me a good structure in order to keep my answers concise. Outside of lessons Daryl was easy to reach if I had any questions and was happy to email me multiple documents to help with my revision and understanding.

I have just sent effusive thanks to the cousin that found Daryl for us after we fell into a flat panic that my daughter's predicted A grade morphed into a scary E at mocks in January. In my second year at SOAS University Of London I decided to take Managerial Economics course. It was the first time I studied this topic and had absolutely no prior knowledge of the subject. As it got more difficult I found it very intense and did not understand much of what was being taught in my Lectures. I was lost and didn't know what to do or if I was even going to get through my exam with a pass.

Daryl was recommended by a friend of mine so I contacted him and started taking private tuition classes. He was very pleasant and was a great teacher. As the exams approached he took me through all the units in detail. I would have classes with him 3-4 times a week (2.5 hour sessions each). I would be in constant contact with him outside my tuition classes. Messaging him on questions I had solved so that he could give me feedback. I took my exam feeling confident.

After the exam I was positive of a good mark, perhaps a 65% which I considered to be a great result. When the results were published I was lost for words. I had a achieved an outstanding mark of 71%! I started having lessons at the end of my AS-levels, and in just one month of preparation I have achieved an A and a B in my AS-levels in economics, up from a predicted C for both. I am in my last year of IB and I found Daryl' economic lessons very efficient - we've covered most of the syllabus by going through past paper questions together and making notes for the parts I thought were harder. He is a very good teacher as he encourages you to find the answer yourself and work from there. He was always there to answer all the questions I've had through whatsapp within minutes! I would definitely recommend him to other students, as he teaches well, is always there to answer questions and also tries to change his schedule around for you so that it would convenient for everyone.

His teaching style was perfect for me, with him going into great detail explaining why answers were the way they were, not just instructing me to learn the rules, but being able to understand where they came from - and i believe this allowed me to understand and enjoy maths to a level i had never encountered before. My successful GCSE result, along with my new interest and Daryl's advice persuaded me to study maths at AS level (achieving a strong grade again), with Daryl's tuition throughout i was able to enjoy the course and understand the material extremelly well. The feed back from the work he set also really helped, to the point that I could accurately mark the mock exams myself. Daryl also talked to me a lot about real life examples relevant to economics from recent news, and pushed me to read up and find my own examples too - including these examples in the exams definitely added those extra marks.
