With a background in statistics and economics from UC Davis, I bring a clear, analytical mindset to language learning—breaking complex ideas into manageable steps and helping students understand the why behind grammar, structure, and word choice. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals but generally follows a clear structure:
Warm-up & review of previous material
- Targeted instruction (e.g., grammar, writing structure, reading strategies, or speaking skills)
- Applied practice using essays, articles, or conversation prompts relevant to the student
- Feedback & correction, with explanations students can reuse independently
- Action steps or optional practice for continued improvement
Lessons are interactive and flexible, adjusting pace and focus based on the student’s progress.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine logical thinking with language learning. I’m especially effective at helping students who feel that English is “confusing” or unstructured—whether it’s academic writing, essay organization, or grammar rules. I emphasize clarity, precision, and critical thinking, skills I developed through my economics and statistics training and now apply to English instruction.
