About Shaun
Hi, my name is Shaun and I am driven individual with a passion for education. I believe education is one of the most powerful resources available for personal, academic, and professional development and have found purpose and enjoyment in all of my education thus far. I have more than one year experience teaching English to children between the ages of 3 and 11 in Paris and I am currently completing a 140-hour TEFL course. I also taught English in Ecuador during a two week placement which further honed my teaching skills, teaching English to both children and adults.
I have a BA in Biological Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and studies sciences and mathematics extensively during Sixth Form. I have always been a studious individual and this extends to class preparation. I strive to tailor lessons to the student's needs and interests. I work hard to find the most appropriate resources to engage the student and make learning a fun and fulfilling experience, regardless of the subject. I structure my lessons to ensure that the student is able to best apply new concepts and topics into their studies and use diverse methods, including discussions, timed exercises, games, and real-life examples.
Regarding languages, I speak fluent French and advanced Spanish.In my free-time I am learning Portuguese, Italian, and Dutch. Studying so many languages has developed my interest in linguistics and I always endeavour to provide understandable and accessible explanations for any problems that may arise in language learning, be it English as a second language, French, or Spanish.
Education, whilst a necessity, can also be an invigorating experience, opening new doors and providing inspiration for the future. As your tutor I will provide you with a dynamic and engaging opportunity to develop your skills in your chosen subject to help you achieve and even surpass your goals.
