About Kiya
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music and have taught piano for 6 years, guiding students of different ages and backgrounds. My experience ranges from working with young beginners to advanced learners preparing for performances, ensuring I can adapt to individual needs effectively. Throughout my teaching career, I have helped students prepare for graded piano exams, competitions, and recitals. I also enjoy teaching those who simply want to play for personal enrichment. This diversity has given me the ability to adjust methods to different goals and learning styles. For me, teaching piano is about more than learning notes—it is about helping students find their voice through music. I am passionate about inspiring learners to develop both discipline and creativity, building a love for piano that can last a lifetime.

My piano lessons focus on establishing a strong foundation in technique, including proper hand positioning, scales, and finger exercises. These essential elements ensure students build control and dexterity, which help them progress smoothly from simple melodies to more complex pieces without frustration.
Along with technical practice, I introduce sight-reading and music theory to give students a well-rounded understanding of piano playing. By learning how to read notation, understand rhythms, and recognize chords, students develop independence and confidence in approaching new music both inside and outside of lessons.
I also encourage performance practice to build confidence and expression. Whether preparing for exams, recitals, or personal enjoyment, I provide strategies for stage presence, interpretation, and overcoming performance anxiety. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, creating a supportive and enjoyable learning journey.
