About Ava
I am an 18 year old student who took biology for a-Level and got anA*. I have always loved all sciences but have a deep passion for biology and the environment. In my gap year I hope to tutor students who need help with GCSE/A-Level biology. I will be studying marine biology at Exeter university next year.

Depending on the students goal I will tailor my lesson to suit their needs. I primarily will work topic by topic going through and breaking down the content into the key concepts as this ensures you’re not being overloaded by information (which is very important as both GCSE and A-LEVEL biology are content heavy). To help the students understand I will demonstrate the concept in a wider context to strengthen and extend their knowledge. For example: photosynthesis is a vital concept for biology, once the student understands photosynthesis, a great example of photosynthesis is the symbiotic relationship between algae and coral, Algae is a photosynthetic organism, the sugars produced by the algae in photosynthesis are used by the coral for energy. The coral provides a protected area for the algae and the compounds they need for photosynthesis to occur.
