About Jakub
I studied composition and arrangement at the Jazz Department of the Karol Szymanowski's Academy of Music in Katowice, where I defended my master's degree. I was also certified by Adam Sztaba himself during his two original composition workshops. I have composed compositions for small and large ensembles (including string quartets, jazz combos, big bands, orchestras), created independently and for films, and my arrangements have been played in television programs and large festivals. My instruments are piano and guitar, mainly on the latter I have a lot of stage experience.
As a student, I was always sensitive to the aspect of sheet music editing, looking for the best and simplest solutions to achieve clear and professional-looking scores. This interest grew stronger over time and before I knew it I had hundreds of hours of tutorials, workshops and books on engraving.
In addition to my Master of Musical Arts, I also have a degree in Information Technology, which is related to my love of technology (and video games (I have an Xbox (and Switch))). I like swimming, programming and learning Arabic on Duolingo ^^

For some reason, music theory is presented as an extremely difficult, often unnecessary resource of unspecified knowledge, when, paradoxically, it is supposed to be a tool that facilitates our musical education and communication. Unlike theories in other fields, in art we do not try to find an explanation why something works, we only describe sound patterns discovered over the centuries, giving them names and systematizing them. Having such an organized set we can quickly and efficiently learn to use them instead of blindly (or deafly) searching for solutions in the sea of sound possibilities.
Perhaps you are a self-taught musician who learned your instrument intuitively, through trial and error. Thanks to music theory, you will speed up the process of learning to play an instrument and expand your sonic range.
