About Finley
Teaching flute has been my passion for over 12 years. During this journey, I have worked with school students, college students, and working professionals who have different musical interests and learning goals. I believe music education should inspire creativity, confidence, and lifelong learning.
My teaching philosophy focuses on communication, patience, motivation, and practical learning. I explain concepts clearly and use simple exercises that help students understand techniques step by step. I encourage regular practice and celebrate every improvement, no matter how small.
Besides flute, I teach music theory, ear training, rhythm practice, breathing techniques, beginner keyboard, sight reading, performance preparation, and music appreciation. These supporting subjects help students develop strong musical foundations.
I help students improve tone quality, finger coordination, posture, rhythm, breath control, and expressive playing. I also prepare students for performances, examinations, and competitions with confidence. My goal is to make learning music enjoyable and rewarding for every student.

I believe that learning the flute should be enjoyable while building discipline, confidence, and creativity. My teaching methodology is based on Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated to improve through consistent practice and supportive guidance.
Lessons begin with breathing exercises, posture correction, embouchure development, finger movement, and tone production. As students progress, they learn scales, rhythm, note reading, articulation, phrasing, dynamics, and performance techniques. I encourage practical learning through exercises, melodies, and regular performance practice.
Communication allows me to explain each topic clearly and adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs. Accountability encourages students to stay committed to their practice schedule and monitor their own improvement. Integrity helps me teach with honesty, patience, fairness, and professionalism while supporting every student equally.
Besides flute, I also teach Music Theory, Staff Notation, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Rhythm Development, Breath Control, Instrument Maintenance, Music Appreciation, Performance Preparation, and Practice Skills. These supporting subjects help students become complete musicians with strong technical and creative abilities.
My goal is to help every student gain confidence, improve steadily, and enjoy a lifelong connection with music.
