About Jerry
Hello, future students! I'm Jerry, a recent graduate of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and a current student at University College London (UCL). I want to share a bit about myself and why I'm eager to teach and share my knowledge with you.
As a graduate of the IB program, I understand the challenges and opportunities of a rigorous, globally-focused education. My own experiences in the IB have given me a deep appreciation for the value of holistic learning, critical thinking, and embracing diverse perspectives. I've been in your shoes, facing the extended essay, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and navigating CAS activities. I've also experienced the transition to higher education, and I know how valuable a strong foundation can be.
I want to teach because I believe in the power of education to transform lives and open doors to new possibilities. I've witnessed how knowledge, when shared and explored, can lead to personal growth, academic success, and a greater understanding of the world. Teaching is not only about imparting facts but also about fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for lifelong learning. It's about helping you reach your full potential and achieve your goals.
My time at UCL has further fueled my enthusiasm for education and learning. I'm constantly exposed to new ideas, research, and the excitement of discovery. I'm here to support you in your educational journey, to share what I've learned, and to guide you through any challenges you may encounter.

Graduated with the International Baccalaureate Diploma, obtaining 7 in Math Analysis and Approaches HL and 7 in Physics HL.
I currently attend UCL for Computer science, and I've taught up to grade 11 IB math in the past two years. Typically, the lessons can last up to 1-2 hours.
I believe the only way of learning math or any subject is through understanding the material rather than tedious memorization, hence, I will focus most of the time on cultivating critical thinking skills. This is done through problem sets designed for pattern recognition, and manipulation of the mathematical tools we have.
I have only taught high schoolers but I am up for challenges in any age group.
