About Aarif
As a Bachelor's degree holder in Drama from the University of Greenwich and with 4 years of work experience in customer-related industries, I have honed my proficiency in using both basic and advanced English in all aspects of my life. My passion for English stems from growing up in an immigrant household where one of my parents struggled with the language. This firsthand experience has instilled in me a deep understanding of the importance of English as a means of communication and connection, especially in today's globalized world.
In my teaching practice, I like to incorporate diverse topics such as history, geography, and science to make lessons fun and engaging while also allowing students to learn more than just language. As someone who loves history, it is my favorite subject to teach, but I am always open to exploring new topics and learning alongside my students.
As a tutor, I believe in being punctual, reliable, and communicative. I understand the importance of establishing trust and building a positive rapport with my students to facilitate effective learning. I am committed to providing my students with the best possible support and guidance to help them achieve their goals. Additionally, I recognize the value of staying up to date with modern teaching practices and continuously learning, which is why I am currently pursuing my TEFL certification and seeking out opportunities for professional development.
Overall, my goal as a tutor is to inspire and empower my students to become confident and proficient English speakers, while also fostering a lifelong love of learning.

My approach to private tutoring is based on the PPP method (presentation, practice, production) and topic-based learning. I like to focus on one main skill in a lesson, such as speaking or writing, and then incorporate sub-skills like vocabulary and grammar. I believe in creating a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable practicing their English skills.
My tutoring sessions typically range from 30 to 45 minutes, but I prefer lessons to be 60 minutes or less to keep students focused and engaged. During our lessons, we'll work together to develop your English proficiency by using a variety of learning materials and resources, such as authentic materials, games, and online resources.
As a tutor, I hold a bachelor's degree in Drama and I'm currently doing a TEFL course to gain my certificate. While I have no previous experience as a tutor, I am passionate about teaching English and helping students reach their language goals.
My lessons are designed for A1, A2, and B1 level students, and I prefer to teach teenagers and young adults, especially international university students who want to improve their English proficiency. Whether you're looking to improve your conversational skills, prepare for an English exam, or simply become more confident using English, I'm here to help you achieve your language goals.
