About Michael
I am currently principal trumpet with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra in Longmont, Colorado, and I regularly perform with professional groups such as the Jordan Kahn Music Company and several chamber groups around Lafayette, Boulder and Longmont. Along with an extensive orchestral, symphonic and jazz/big band background, I have placed finals and won several solo and chamber brass competitions at the national and international levels. Additionally, I have my first solo trumpet album coming out later this month!

I am committed to helping students find their own path forward through finding the musical goals that resonate with them the most, and tailoring their assigned studies, fundamentals and listening to those specific goals. Odds are it takes less practice than expected, and ideally the student will no longer need a teacher after our time together, because they will have a personalized system that they can depend on.
