• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  My interest in Biology began ever since I was introduced to it in school. Add to that my love for helping people, and I realized medicine was the path that was meant for me. All along pre-med and medicine, I would offer private tutoring for students in need. It is my passion to encourage students and show them the beauty of Biology by simplifying it.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach any type of Biology: from AP Biology, up to anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, up to clinical medicine. Too often, our courses are too detailed, so I love giving real-life examples and explaining the big picture before diving into the details, so students can excel not only in their exams but also in their future profession.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  So many teachers have inspired me over the years. A good teacher can change your perspective and understanding of the whole course. Complex courses can become easy once explained in simplicity.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Patience. Enthusiasm (I love being the cheerleader for my students). Repetition. In-class quizzes.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  In school, I created a WhatsApp group where I shared detailed voice notes breaking down biology concepts before exams, which many classmates relied on for revision. It taught me that clear, relatable explanations can make a real difference in someone's understanding-and sparked my passion for teaching.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  When I was in pre-med, the courses were so bulk, new, detailed, that it was hard to see the bigger picture and hence, harder to grasp the concept. For this reason, I try to always start with the big picture and then discuss the details, so everything falls into place.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  My eyes light up when students send me positive feedback and tell me that they did great on their exam. I love to help others excel. I love to help ease their journey, since it can be overwhelming. Apart from helping my patients, I hope to one day teach in medical school too.

• What makes you a Superprof?

  What makes me a Superprof is my ability to simplify complex biology topics and adapt my teaching style to each student's unique way of learning. I combine strong academic knowledge with patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
