About Andres
I hold a PhD in Biology/Neuroscience from the City University of New York and Two postdoctoral degrees biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California. I have ample experience mentoring students and explaining the difficult concepts in a manner that they may understand.

In my courses, I function as both a teacher and as a facilitator of ideas. I begin each class with a lecture in order to introduce key concepts and terminology. The lecture is broken up by several problem solving sessions that help my students delve deeper into the concepts that were covered during the lecture. It is key for students, especially with those that are struggling, to demystify the problem-solving process. Finally, it is empowering for students to take on the role as educator. I believe that you truly do not understand a concept until you can teach it to someone else.
