  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I heard about the term "Nanotechnology" in grade 8 and was instantly hooked by its vast potential in sciences. I specifically remember how I pledged that one day I'd be doing something worthwhile in the field of nanotechnology. Fast forward to my wholesome journey in pharmaceutical sciences, the time finally arrived when I could do meaningful research in the field of medicine/ drugs and nanotechnology combined.

The thing that makes me explicitly curious about this is its scientific applications. The biology ones are a part of it and believe me, they've just started to get more attention in the last decade. Everywhere we see, there's something related to science and nanotechnology. It's time to embrace and implement whatever we know into this wonderful field and make everyone's future better.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

My passion for biology and applying whatever I've learned till now, i.e. my bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D., is that Biology is like a lifelong subject to learn. The more you know, the better you're attuned to nature, positively reflecting our thoughts and actions. Being an ardent biology lover, there's never a shortage of learning in this subject since there's a daily discovery that can change the way we live our lives. So, there's a lot to learn and appreciate and keep moving on and progressing.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Ever since I was a kid, I've been around a tutoring environment since my mother used to be a school teacher. In my humble opinion, I consider teaching/ mentoring the most noble job globally. With the right mindset, a tutor can shape a student's career in multiple ways apart from just the academic factor. I consider tutors as individuals who instill true confidence, compassion, and the need to do the right thing and give back to the world in which we live.

The thing that makes me a Superprof is that being a curious learner myself; I have a neutral mindset when it comes to teaching my students. I consider everyone equally in terms of ability. It is just finding the right balance of things that makes us unique. With lesser comparison and judgment, we can finally find our true purpose and do great in our lives. That's my approach. I'm a life sciences Ph.D. graduate with creative skills such as composing music, playing instruments (Tabla), and practising Taek-Won-Do martial arts. With such a diverse set of disciplines and workflows, I've been lucky enough to have success in all. I firmly believe that one can do anything with the right mindset for something you love. I have a couple of examples to share, but it'd be great to discuss in-person/ online.
  • Do you have any role models; or a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I've had plenty of good teachers and role models. My parents, martial arts and music teacher and my teachers in professional life have shaped me into the person I am today. Each of them has shown me what true learning is and has made me a compassionate, humble, and curious learner who never says no to something that looks difficult or impossible.
