About Tyler
I grew up in a household where all styles of music were appreciated, which shaped how I teach today. I enjoy helping students connect with the music they love while building strong fundamentals. I am organized, prepared, reliable, and easy to communicate with.
As a performer, I’ve toured extensively across the U.S. and have collaborated with artists in jazz, pop, and alternative settings. I’ve played on albums and recording sessions in New York, D.C., Nashville, Miami, and LA, and I’m an active member of the local music scene.
Lessons can include:
-Jazz, rock, pop, R&B, Americana, Latin, and classical styles
-Rudiments and technique
-Soloing concepts
-Recording approaches and preparation techniques
-Music theory and sight reading
I offer lessons from my home studio in Eagle Rock / Northeast Los Angeles, and I’m also available to travel for in-home lessons.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, and I offer a trial lesson for new students.

Hi, I’m Tyler Pons, a Los Angeles-based drummer and teacher offering private drum lessons for students of all ages and experience levels.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance (Drums) from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and have been teaching for over five years. My lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals, whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow as a more confident, creative, and well-rounded drummer.
