About Sabrina
I am a May 2024 graduate of Binghamton University, where I obtained a dual-degree in Philosophy, Politics, & Law and Spanish Language and Literature. I also obtained a minor in Creative Writing. I am a dedicated and passionate educator with 6+ years of experience teaching in multiple settings. From elementary level one-on-one tutoring, to teaching university level classes, I have a proven track record of success and improvement in all of my students.

Hello! My name is Sabrina and I am a Middle School teacher with CPS Charter Schools. I am currently working to obtain my PhD in comparative literature, and studied Spanish Literature during my undergrad.
As somebody who has been working within the education world for a while, I believe that collaboration is key. The most important thing for me is that my students know that they are respected, and their concerns are hard!
Learning a new language can be difficult, that is why I like to approach it using real world, useful examples, while incorporating the individual interests of my students.
My typical lesson plan focuses on reading, writing, and conversation in Spanish. I work with my students to find out what interests them- often it isn't learning Spanish! However, regardless of what their interests are, whether it is other academic subjects like politics and biology, or personal hobbies such as arts and sports, I will always make sure to work in their interests so not only are they learning Spanish, they are learning more about what interests them. Two birds with one stone!
Often, I require that my students consume media in the Spanish language outside of tutoring and class sessions as well. I will provide an age appropriate list of TV series and movies in Spanish for each student, depending on their age group.
I am open to teaching all students from a variety of different backgrounds. From beginner vocabulary to studying for the AP Spanish exam, I'm your girl!
