About Universia
Hi! My name is Yuuna and my pronouns are they/them. I am currently an undergraduate student studying psychology and international affairs. I lived in Japan for just shy of two years when I studied at a Japanese high school during my senior year and then proceeded to study for one year in the special intensive Japanese program for foreign students (留学生別科日本語研修課程) after graduating from high school. I passed the JLPT N2 exam toward the end of the Japanese program and am certified at that level of proficiency and my goal for the future is to become fluent in Japanese and move back to Japan and become a long-term resident. I have experience tutoring students who are taking Japanese courses at my university here in the US and I keep my tutoring sessions fun, engaging, and student-led.

I create a safe, engaging, and fun tutoring environment and I will often simulate real conversations in Japanese utilizing any grammar or vocabulary you may be working on! I begin every lesson by recapping everything we worked on in the previous lesson and follow a lesson plan that I tailor to your needs, built with the help of your input at the end of each lesson. Depending on your needs, I will also create worksheets for you to practice the things we worked on in our previous lesson that I will ask you to complete and send to me to review before our next lesson.
