About Cristiana
I am a graduate student studying Early Childhood and Special Education, and I truly enjoy helping young children feel more confident in themselves as learners. I have hands-on experience working with children in classroom and individualized support settings, including students with a variety of learning needs.
I know that every child learns differently, so I try to create a tutoring environment that feels patient, encouraging, and comfortable. I want students to feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again without feeling pressured or embarrassed.
I am dependable, caring, and thoughtful in the way I plan each session. I also value communication with families and believe that working together can make a big difference in a child’s progress.
Most importantly, I want each student to leave tutoring feeling proud of what they accomplished and more confident in what they can do!

My approach as a tutor is patient, supportive, and individualized to each child. I like to first understand what the student already knows, where they may be struggling, and what helps them stay engaged. I use a mix of direct instruction, visuals, hands-on activities, practice, and encouragement so learning feels manageable and positive.
A typical lesson would begin with a quick review or warm-up, followed by focused instruction on one skill. From there, we would practice together before moving into more independent work, games, reading activities, or hands-on practice depending on the subject and the child’s needs.
What sets me apart is my background in Early Childhood and Special Education. I understand that children learn in different ways and may need extra repetition, visual supports, movement, or a different explanation before something clicks.
My lessons are best suited for young children in preschool through early elementary school, especially students working on early reading, phonics, writing, math, school readiness, homework support, or general skill-building.
