I've been working with tutees and children since I was as young as 13 and throughout my time at school and university. I have a passion for sharing the excitement that learning can bring - I believe learning can be fun for anyone, it's just about how it's delivered to you, and I hope I can make that happen!

Hi! I'm Rufus, I'm a student at the University of Liverpool studying Politics and Philosophy.
I have plenty of experience working with tutees in academic and co-curricular settings. I have helped students from ages 7 through 18 develop their skills in a wide breadth of areas including Economics, Business, English, and Maths, as well as - for younger learners - essential skills including reading and writing.
Something that's very important to me as a tutor is that my tutees are always happy with the pace of learning. A big issue with school is that it fails to always ensure that lessons are moving at a comfortable speed where students understand everything being taught and all key points are covered, but I believe everybody is capable of excelling at learning, and I am always happy to adjust the pace of my lessons!
I believe it is essential that students develop full comprehensive understanding of certain key ideas in a subject before moving on to more complicated topics, which is why I not only make sure this is achieved, but I also organise folders of resources and help develop concise notes on topics we are focusing on. This makes it easy to access our information when revising, so all bases are covered when it comes to the day of the exam!
By using these techniques, I was able to achieve 8A* and an A at GCSE, as well as 3As at A level.
