About Willow
My interest in economics began with a fascination for how individual choices connect to larger social and financial systems. I pursued a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy, which strengthened my understanding of economic theory, government decision-making, and real-world applications. Over the past 9 years, I have worked with students from diverse academic backgrounds, helping them develop clarity, confidence, and structured thinking in economics.
I believe effective teaching requires patience, relevance, and adaptability. I focus on explaining concepts step by step, using diagrams, current examples, and discussion to make learning approachable. Many students initially feel overwhelmed by graphs, models, or terminology, so I emphasize clarity and gradual progression. My lessons are designed to reduce anxiety and build confidence through understanding rather than memorization.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged with economic news, policy analysis, and research writing, which allows me to bring fresh perspectives into lessons. Seeing students grow from confusion to confidence is deeply rewarding. My goal is to help learners become thoughtful, informed individuals who can confidently engage with economic ideas and decisions.

Economics becomes meaningful when students clearly see how theory explains everyday decisions, national policies, and global events. My lessons focus on building strong foundations in microeconomics and macroeconomics while continuously linking concepts to real-life situations such as inflation, employment, consumer choice, government spending, and international trade. I carefully explain ideas like supply and demand, elasticity, market structures, and economic indicators using simple language, current examples, and guided discussion. Each lesson encourages learners to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and develop logical reasoning instead of memorizing definitions. By connecting abstract models to familiar experiences, students gradually build confidence and curiosity. The learning environment remains calm, supportive, and structured so learners feel comfortable expressing doubts and exploring ideas deeply.
Lessons are adapted based on the learner’s level and goals. Beginners work on understanding basic economic terms, graphs, and cause-and-effect relationships with plenty of visual support. Intermediate learners analyze policy impacts, business decisions, and market behavior through structured case studies and guided problem solving. Advanced learners explore economic modeling, data interpretation, essay writing, and exam strategies. Practice questions, discussion prompts, and feedback are integrated into every session to strengthen clarity, reasoning, and accuracy.
Beyond exams, economics helps students think critically about society and decision-making. Learners develop analytical skills, balanced judgment, and awareness of how incentives shape behavior. My aim is to help students feel confident interpreting economic information and applying it thoughtfully in academics, careers, and everyday life.
