About Thalia
My fascination with economics began with a curiosity about the forces that drive markets, societies, and human decision-making. This interest led me to pursue a B.A. in Economics and an M.Sc. in Applied Economics, equipping me with the skills to analyze theory, evaluate policy, and interpret quantitative data effectively. Over 12 years, I have guided students at all levels to develop conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, and confidence in applying economic principles to practical situations.
I emphasize interactive, student-centered teaching that balances conceptual understanding with real-world application. Many learners initially find graphs, models, or policy concepts abstract, so I use relatable examples, exercises, and discussion-based methods to foster active engagement, critical thinking, and confidence. This approach ensures learners develop both mastery of content and intellectual curiosity.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged with contemporary economic research, global trends, and policy analysis, integrating current examples into lessons to maintain relevance and depth. Watching students progress from uncertainty to clarity, develop independent analytical thinking, and appreciate the impact of economics in real life is profoundly rewarding. Supporting learners to achieve both competence and curiosity in economics is the foundation of my teaching philosophy.

My lessons cover microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, behavioral economics, game theory, and applied data analysis. I focus on creating a conceptual framework while strengthening quantitative skills and critical thinking, helping learners approach complex problems confidently. Each lesson incorporates case studies, discussion of contemporary events, exercises, and practical applications, fostering curiosity and an analytical mindset in understanding economic systems.
I adapt lessons according to the learner’s level. Beginners are guided through basic principles, supply-demand analysis, and simple quantitative exercises. Intermediate learners explore fiscal and monetary policies, market equilibrium, elasticity, and data-driven modeling. Advanced learners focus on econometrics, policy evaluation, optimization techniques, and applied analysis for decision-making. Every class balances instruction, practice, and discussion to ensure strong comprehension, analytical growth, and confident application of economic concepts.
Economics education also builds transferable skills such as structured reasoning, problem-solving, and informed decision-making.
