About Ayla
With over eight years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Economics, I’ve guided learners through the complex yet fascinating mechanics of markets and decision-making. My own journey into Economics began from a simple question: Why do some choices succeed while others fail? That curiosity drives my teaching every day. I approach every topic with a balance of logic and storytelling—using relatable, modern examples like startup pricing strategies, climate economics, or global supply chain disruptions. This approach helps students connect theoretical models to everyday life, transforming abstract graphs into stories of people, choices, and systems. My lessons emphasise reasoning, discussion, and application. I encourage students to form their own economic opinions, analyse evidence, and challenge assumptions respectfully. This turns Economics into an active, living subject rather than a passive memorisation task. Outside of teaching, I stay engaged with research on behavioural economics and sustainable growth, ensuring my students receive insights rooted in current global trends. My goal is to build thinkers who can analyse, innovate, and make sense of the world through an economist’s lens.

My Economics lessons bridge conceptual clarity with real-world relevance. Students begin by understanding core principles—supply, demand, elasticity, and equilibrium—before progressing into complex topics like monetary policy, market structures, and economic growth models. Each lesson integrates current examples from world economies and recent financial events to make learning tangible and meaningful. I prioritise discussion-based learning, encouraging students to think critically about how economic theory interacts with global issues like inflation, sustainability, and technological change. Through guided data interpretation and case studies, they develop the ability to read trends and make informed predictions. Interactive charts, visual models, and comparative analyses help students visualise the invisible flows of money, labour, and production. I emphasise understanding why policies succeed or fail, and how consumer behaviour shapes the market. By the end of my lessons, students are equipped to analyse data, interpret policy outcomes, and view economics not just as a subject, but as a way to understand how societies make decisions and shape the future.
