About Smita
I am an educator and researcher. I have a PhD in Mathematics and worked as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at a university in India. I was teaching Mathematics to undergraduate & Graduate students. I enjoy teaching and interacting with young minds, so it does not matter whether they are school kids or college students

Teaching in my opinion is a two-sided learning process. I believe that teaching of mathematics must be interactive and involve the student. Another essential part of my teaching philosophy is that students must learn not only to “do” Mathematics, but also to communicate and share it effectively.
I often assign classroom presentations, as an opportunity for students to communicate mathematics with speech and marker. In written assignments, I stress clarity, precision, and organization. I encourage students to collaborate and discuss their work with one another, either through in-class group activities or outside of class.
