About David
I am a photographer, researcher and educator from Ireland. I teach photography, visual culture and digital imaging. I also have experience working in fine art printing and colour management. I completed a practice-led Masters by Research at Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) Dún Laoghaire in 2018 on the role of the image in the transformation of urban topographies in the context of globalised production and neoliberal governance. I also hold a qualification in Visual Education and in the past I have taught photography at the Photo Museum Ireland, Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute, IADT Dún Laoghaire in Dublin and Aalto University in Finland.
My interests in photography include landscape, architecture, and environmental portraiture. I am currently a PhD candidate in Interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences researching the relationship between images and urban space.

With over 15 years experience in the field of photography I have taught in both Ireland and Finland at institutes such as Photo Museum Ireland, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design, and Technology and Aalto University. My teaching method is very much tailored to suit students' needs. I like to get to know my students and their expectations in order to accommodate their particular learning requirements. I take a practical approach to teaching always providing clear examples where it assists students in learning.
