A dedicated and distinguished teacher, with over 20 years of teaching, examining and tutoring. A wide range of teaching experience from small state-schools to very prestigious, international tier-1 schools. Students taught have high expectations: Ivy League and Russell Group Universities. Students achieve and succeed above departmental standards.
An experienced Assistant Moderator and Assistant Examiner for AQA, CCEA, Cambridge and IB. Specialising in IGCSE / GCSE /IB English language and Literature. Thus, very aware of what examiners are wanting to see.
Consistently strong feedback from students who both enjoy the lessons and can measure meaningful improvement. Bespoke, individually tailored lessons which match to needs of the student.

Humour, high-standards and helpfulness would characterise my approach. I feel tutoring must be an open dialogue. My teaching approach is to first identify during the free introductory meeting the areas of achievement and those areas which need focus. Then, with the student, to plan a six week course of study with achieveable, specific goals. With clearly stated success criteria, we can then ensure that learning is focused, effective and productive. After the six weeks, we can reflect to see what the next steps should be.
